Before i had the same problem, when i thought my k5 runs out of battery i plug it in to charge, but it said charge complete and when i unplug it, it still wont turn on. but then i tried switching to a different usb plug on my computer and it worked. so i guess the problem is that some of your usb slot on your computer isnt working properly, try using a different slot.

The mp3 player wont charge. plug into computer and it shows charging but as soon as it is disconnected it shuts off and wont turn on.

Some mp3's don't expressly charge on the computer, that why when you connect it, the computer only sees it as a flash but is not actually charging it all this while and the battery is completely down. So try and get an external charger for it, the battery may be completely dead.Or probably you need to change the battery. Hope that puts a smile on your face.

My yp-k5 is not working.........the screen buttons itself is disabled..wen switched on.....i get a message.to delete 20 mb files......how can i do that wen d buttons itself r not working.....i tried...

First off, make sure the unit is not on hold. You can check that by looking at the side for the HOLD switch.

Next try to reset the player. Here's how you do it:
With the unit, get a paperclip and poke the reset hole at the back of the unit until the unit shuts off.

Try to turn on the unit and check if the buttons will be activated. If they'll work, format the player.

Next, what exactly happens when you try formatting the player using your PC?
You can try going to My Computer. There, you're going to see teh YP-K5. You DO NOT format that. Rather, double click on it. You're suppsoed to see a STORAGE folder. Right click on that directory and select FORMAT.

Hope this helps!

Samsung K5 trouble shooting

Just a question, is there a button that has to be in a certain position while charging? I had a similar problem with my daughters ipod of a different company. I am not sure if this will help or not. I hope it does.

Won`t charge

I had the same problem. First disconnect the mp3 player from your computer. Then go into the control panel, select the system icon, go to the device manager tab, and then find the Samsung K5 driver. Right click on it and select uninstall. Now reconnect your mp3 player. That should do the trick. Somehow the driver file got corrupted and wasn't letting the k5 charge.

Samsung K5 trouble shooting

i had a different problem before... mine turned on, but lagged with the "Samsung" logo for more than 5 minutes. Then I pushed the Reset button at the back, and it turned off. When I tried to open it again, it just lagged once more. I then realized that I recently put a playlist I made with Windows Media Player, which turned out to make it NOT work (and probably caused the lag for some reason), so I deleted the playlist, and it wwnt back to normal again. What a relief.

I just shared this for future uses. xD
