How to use the web cam

Both need a web cam on the computer it can be any type of cam and mic not a certain brand.

Download the drivers from the Acer WEB site. Make sure you select the model of your laptop and the XP or Vista version of the drivers you that
require and it matches the Windows version that is installed on your

I would assume this is a built in web-cam. Normally a web-cam software comes installed on your computer and all you need to do start the software and the web-cam will start. Or you may use this link to get a free web-cam software. http://www.eyespyfx.com/my_webcam_broadcaster.htm
Note, if the web-cam is not a built in web-cam this will work a bit differently.

Don't mind that it says that it's for the acer travelmate. If it doesn't work, I will need to know which sound card you have.

first check you have installed all the web cam driver came with your notebook than check the control panel> device manager > imaging devices acer crystal eye web cam if there is a yellow ! . then re install the driver...

As the little information you gave. Check for power button. Try cleaning or using a jumper pin where it connects. If start on contact, is the power button.
