Displaying error number F02

Seems to make it through the wash cycle okay, but doesn't drain or spin when it reaches the rinse/spin cycle. I can get water to drain from the hose at the back, and if I hold down the spin button it will spin, but there is still water in the tub so it is not completely emptying.
I had set it to wash normally which is a 45 minute cycle. When I discovered the problem it was stalled at 12 minutes. I unplugged it and when I plugged it back in it started at 12 minutes again.
Thank you for any assistance you can give.

Hi there
OK i give you what you need to read so you know what it is. Hope this gets you in the right direction.
F/02 Long Drain
If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes, the water valves are turned off and "F/02" is flashed.
NOTE: After 4 minutes the "Sud" error will be displayed, then 4 minutes later the F02 error code will be displayed.

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.

  • Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
  • Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
  • Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
  • If the above does not correct the problem, replace the pump.
Thank you for writing to fix ya.
Best regards Richard

Open bottom panel, notice the pump at front, unscrew cap from pump, but place a pan below pump as there will be a lot of water coming out, there in the filter you will see your problem.

Maytag MHWE450 spins fine at full speed mid-cycle, for instance between wash and rinse, but will not spin after rinse or on "drain and spin" option. There are no error codes. Seems it might be...

Hello K.W. ,
Sad to sad their is no way to reset the control and yes it sounds as if has diagnosed it spot on ...since it spins on the rinse cycle the motor can be ruled out totally as the problem since its up to the control to tell the motor what to do and when to do it so if it spins sometimes and not others it seems to be the control that's not telling it to spin at the end. One thing to check though is that the filter screen perhaps is clogged since i believe it doesn't spin at high speed until after the water has drained and if the filter on the pump is built up w/debris its not going to drain fast enough so while it may not solve it,it may solve it by checking the drain filter. This tip i wrote will show ya how to check the filter on the pump.http://www1.fixya.com/support/r10121384-check_when_duet_washer_door_locked_after

If the filter is relativity clean and doesn't solve the problem the control baord would need to be replaced.

Hi our Bosch exxcel washing machine has stopped spinning and doesn't reach the end of its cycle most of the time. If it does the washing is still soaking and needs a new rinse and spin cycle after....

Hi gillsteer,

I believe your drain pump filter is just clogged. The drain pump is trying to pump the water out before the Spin cycle, but can't. Usually this is caused by a foreign object that is obstructing the impeller. See my tip on how to access, drain & clean the Drain Pump Filter:

ACCESS, DRAIN & CLEAN THE DRAIN PUMP FILTER

After this, the Spin cycle will run, after the drainage procedure. If it does not, then you may need to replace the Drain Motor. Which is a easy task.

Kind Regards :-)

I have a Kenmore Elite HE3 model 44832 200 washer. Will spin sometimes, but doesn't seem to get to full speed. Often won't spin at all and gets F02 error, but it does roll during wash/rinse cycles. ...

he F02 message is a long drain error and it may mean the pump is clogged or bad. You don't provide a lot of detail about if the water is draining out or not but the first thing to check for this error is the drain pump.

The image below shows how to access the pump and remove the filter. This may be your only problem. With the access panel removed you can also make sure the pump is running. Remember to unplug the washer before removing the access panel.

Check the pump for the F02 and make sure you're using HE detergent and there's not excessive suds.

During the Normal washing cycle. 02 F appears. and cycle stops. Cycle hasn't finished rinse or spin.

Hi
Error F02 appears after 8mins of SUDs error. Error F02 means Long drain, means washer is taking longer time than normal to drain. Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display. NOTE: After 4 minutes the SUD error will be displayed, and then 4 minutes later the F02 error code will be displayed.
? Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
? Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
? Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
? If the above does not correct the problem, replace the pump.

There are 3 small 9/32 hex head screws that hold the front panel on. Unscrew the 3 hex head screws (9/32 socket or nut driver size), now remove the front kick panel. Unscrew the white drain cap -WARNING-- lots of water will drain out when you loosen the white cap. Once all the water is out, remove and take out the filter trap.
Hope this helps... Please post back for more information

Got code F02 after cleaning all drain system and replacing pump.

"F02" is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a "SUDS" error may also be generated as a secondary error. This is an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:

1. Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
2. Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
3. Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.

To check the drain pump, click on the following link for step-by-step instructions.

If the above procedures do not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the drain pump

F02 Code -

The following link explains the "F02" error on a Kenmore Elite:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r615268-f02_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore

More commonly, you have a clog in the drain pump. I would recommend starting there first. The link I provided gives a follow-on link that describes how to clean out the drain pump of debris. I would also recommend you check all drain hoses for kinks and clogs. If you clear the pump and the error returns, there's a good chance you will need to replace the pump. It doesn't take much to damage the small impeller. The pump may run, but it may not be pumping correctly. If you discover that you need a new pump, replacements can be found on line at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your COMPLETE model number (located around the door opening) and look under the "Pump and Motor Parts" heading for (I believe) item number 10. This was the cheapest place I could find the pump. If you wish to check other sites, use the part number provided on the Sears website for your search.

I hope you find this information helpful and that it doesn't come to replacing parts. If it does, however, it's not a terrribly expensive repair if you perform this yourself. I can also provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to replace the pump, if necessary. Let me know if you have questions, and/or require additional assistance.
