How much salt goes in dish washer

You don't put salt in a dishwasher unless you want to ruin it.

2. You ONLY use a detergent specifically for dishwasher use as the cleaning agent and you 3/4 fill the soap dispenser in the washer (normally fitted into the door on the inside) with the dishwasher powder.

3. If there is a separate small compartment in your dish washer for a "rinse aid" solution to be used, you can use a rinse aid product designed for dishwasher use only. If there is no rinse aid compartment (this is also normally fitted to the inside of the door - if fitted on your machine) then you cannot use a rinse aid in your washer.

4. Don't use any other product in the dish washer.

We have hard water at our home, but the new dishwasher leaves a thick film on the glasses. We use the rinse agent, but it's awful.

You have to buy a cartridge type water softener and attach it to the
inlet water line of your dish washer. In addition to this there must be
a salt compartment in the dish washer.
Refer the user guide /owners manual and locate. Fill it with the special
dish washer salt. ( Do not use kitchen salt used for food).
The dish washer salt may help to certain extent in softening the wash
tub water inside. Check the switch settings for rinse aid and salt
release settings in the machine. Refer manual!

My new dishwasher leaves a white residue on my pots. pans and stainless flatware. I have not changed soap. Could the water not be hot enough?

Check the incoming water quality. If water is hard and having calcium content this could happen. Use water softeners in the inlet water to the machine.

If dish washer salt compartment available fill with the special salt meant for dish washers.

Check rinse aid compartment and fill rinse aid. Or use two in one soap tablet.

The dishwasher is not cleaning properly, glasses look like they have a film on them, plates also do not look clean & the dishwasher has a foul smell.. like rotting food in it.. we use the top quality...

Check the main drain system connected to the dish washer hose pipe. Clean the junction if clogged. This smell might orginate from the pipe.

Check incoming water quality. If hard water is noticed, use softener attachments to the inlet.

Fill dish washer salt in the dispenser. Refer user guide. The salt will help softening the water to certain extent. Finally check whether rinse aid dispenser filled with the rinse aid liquid.

Dishwasher powder

Check inlet water quality. It's hardness level. Use salt meant for dish washers. There will be a salt fill compartment. Refer user guide.

Finally check whether the rinse aid dispenser has liquid for dispensing.

DISHES COMING OUT WHITE PUT IN SALT BUT NO DIFFERENCE

Not sure what model dishwasher you are having.

If you have hard water and are using water softener then you may have to adjust the setting of the softener.

If your dishwasher has separate brine reservoir to control hard water then brine pump may not be letting enough water go through the reservoir to disolve the salt.

Make sure the rinse aid has not entered into the softener reservoir.
Clean the dishes coming with white residue using vinegar solution.

Dishes aren't clean. i have run vingegar and CR through the cycle but dishes and glasses still have a film.

The most common cause of film left behind is a broken heating element.

The heating element is not only used during the dry cycle, but also to raise the water temp. during the main wash cycle to activate the dishwasher detergent. Fixing the heating element should "clear" this problem right up!

Dishwasher not cleaning dishes. Casade cleaner not disolved.???

Run the unit with no soap, after about 5 min. of run time open door and check to see if water is clear or soapy,If soapy then you are having an oversudsng issue. When your washer gets to rinse cycle, your unit (if oversuding),will be rinsing with soapy water and the the drying cycle bakes the soap on dishes. You might be having a white film on your clear glasses.Cut down on soap especially if you have soft water.powder soap is best.Your dishwasher will fill , wash , the drain. Its what you put into it that will cause dishes not become clean.
