After the tv is turned on it turns off 3 or 4 times after turning it back on and the screen turns blue for a few minutes before becoming clear. It lasts longer each day.

Many of these sets had problems with bad picture Tubes--they use a red, green and blue crt. Most commonly the blue gives troubles--The tubes are now only available on a rebuild basis--usually not worth doing as the cost is very high.

You may have a bad blue picture tube but there is a way to deal with this first----the set has a black plastic block with six controls---three are Focus(red, green, blue) the other 3 controls are Screen controls(red, green, blue)

Someone has to remove the entire piece on the front of the set below the screen(usually a plastic part) most of the time it is secured with 3 screws on either side of the set in the back; once you remove the screws the entire piece should pull out(pull from right to left(it will not fall off or come out easy--it is held in with several large plastic pegs) With it removed there is an inspection plate with 4 screws-----the screen/focus block is behind it.

You need to look very closely at the block to identify the focus versus screen controls----one row left to right will be marked Focus and the other row left to right will be marked screen------YOU need to locate the Blue Screen control (they are black like the block) With the set on(be careful) go to a video input After the tv is turned on it turns off 3 or 4 - clip_image001.gif with nothing connected---if you see a blue screen as well as the input number turn the BLUE SCREEN CONTROL SLOWLY TO THE LEFT UNTIL THE BLUE is gone.

If this cures the problem you may only be buying yourself some time----if the blue picture tube is bad sooner or later this trouble may return----I have seen sets where this was adjusted and the set worked for a year or more with no repeat of the trouble----replacing the blue tube would likely cost you 400 -500 parts and labor.

I do this here for free so if this has helped you rate this solution.

I have 40''polaroid lcd(4011TLXB). Powers up like normal with LED changing from red to blue then screen turns black and LED remains blue. I've tried unplugging power cable and waiting a few minutes be

I also had blown capacitors on my power supply. You can see when they're bad: the tops split or bubble up like a dome. I changed most of the caps, just to be sure, and it fixed the problem. Careful of the larger capacitors. They stay powered for some time and can shock you pretty badly. Good Luck

Many times the main circuit board becomes defective, especially after a power surge. If you had power fluctuations lately, the board could have become compromised. A shorted board needs replacement. Sometimes the cost of repair becomes greater than purchasing a new system.

Our Mitsubishi WD 52525 goes to blue screen and shuts off.

It sounds like you TV is overheating and the video is suffering and the lamp is overheating as well. Also, if your TV is over 2-3 years old, the mirrors (behind and below the big front screen) desperately need to be cleaned. Clean all filters and fans as well. (Look on side and behind the unit). Is the TV in a "hot" environment and/or dirty environment? DLP TV's are NOT sealed units. They need to be cleaned every few years to work well to have a good, clear, bright picture.

Cloudy Blue Color Covering Whole Screen

I think its time for sony to face a claas action, they do not supply parts in less than 7 years, and the unit should not have been sold so $high, they should buy them back, that is the best solution

Have you tried unplugging overnight? Sometimes mine gets screen garbage and that clears it up. Of course, now it says "Auto Scan Required" every time I power up. Maybe I should've grabbed that after Xmas 32" at Fry's for $400.

Sony KP-51HW40 51 in. Rear Projection turns blue

Hello......
First reduse the G2 voltage for the blue c.r.t,and watch if the unit works for longer period (offcource blue colour will be not present). After reducing G2 voltage to blue c.r.t still behaves the same than c.r.t is faulty and you have to replace.
Pls count the red led blinking when it goes off, incase it goes to std by mode.

Image is grany every time tv is cold.

I had the same problem. Except mine never got better after the tv warmed up. I fortunately I still have my manufacturers warranty and Samsung sent a guy out within a few days. He replaced a few parts which really didn't do anything. However what he did that was interesting was on two circuit boards. One on the mid left and the other on the mid right. Apparently there is a nob or something he tweaked on each panel that cleared the grainy image right up. What he told me was that the it is basically pixels that are not turning off in sync. adjusting the two circuit boards syncs the pixels to turn on and off at the same time.

Problem with color

Yes you have a problem in the red crt driver board. Most likely the driver transistor is failing. This is a component level repair, so if you have no experience with TV repair, play it safe and call in a trained tech to assist you in this matter. Good Luck
