This model has a regular glass CRT part # A80AJZ9010. The cob webs may be just scratches in the glass. I don't see a protection screen listed on this set. But I will look better tomorrow, and get back to you if I find anything.

I have cob webs behind the screen. i have tried vacuming and blowing to no avail. can I some how remove the screen to clean it ?

remove rear cover---get a swiffer cleaner and gently from rear of set that is not plugged in reach in and wipe all the webs away--do not apply force to inside of screen---really no reason to remove entire front screen for this "repair".

I have cob webs on the inside of screen. How do I open up to clean them out?

Unplug the TV. Take the back off. Using a broom or duster with a long handle, get the cob web inside the TV. Make it sure not to push the screen out. Good luck!

Removing and cleaning the screen on a 65" rear projection tv

You can remove the screen, take the speaker cover off in the front you sould be able to see the screws that hold the screen on the bottom remove the screws and unplug the wire the goes to the screen fron the tv, you need two people one on each side just pop each side up about an inch and pull it off,

Hazy yellow spot in the left lower corner of the screen

It could be a cob web inside the tv or something laying on one of the guns, like a dead bug. If it's a cob web, you should be able to move the tv a little side to side and see it change from the moving air current. I would remove the back and vacuum off the lenses of the guns and look for cob webs. It's safe to touch and clean the lenses, just don't touch any electronics. If this doesn't fix it, it's probably fluid starting to cloud up in the guns or IC chip problems.

Needs to be cleaned

The back comes off the unit.  Lots of screws.  If you do this, DO NOT touch anything related to the tubes.  Power it off for several hours...unplugged...before touching it.

Cob web

The cob web is likely to be on the other side of the screen. I undid the back cover and dusted the screen from the inside. I also sprayed pesticide inside the TV (wood and corners only!)

Cob webs

Hi, remove rear top cover, this will give you access to clean the unit, be advised you should use 2 people once you get all the screws out, the back is HEAVY because there is a mirror attatched to the rear cover(on the inside) and if you drop the cover it`s expensive to replace, good luck, BMW Rider
