How many times this standby/power light blinks at one time switch ON? Count it carefully. These blinks are fault indication, and known as blinking codes. From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON; you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. This will make repair easy. the red picture is because the optical block is bad now this part cost about $500 plus labor , when you took the lamp out you need to put the door back otherways the tv wont wort

Make sure lamp cover is also fixed on tv cabinet after lamp installation.
If lamp cover has not been put on its place, tv wont turn On due to safety switch inside that place that gets press with lamp cover.

Most of the times, the power suppply board just have dead leakages gases capacitors.These capacitors alway bulges up on it top,or puff up on it top.Replaced these gases leakages capacitors will get ur tv power stable,and work again.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole rerfurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Can you unplug the TV for about 15 seconds, and then plug back in and watch the stand-by light. Tell me how many time the stand-by light blinks in regular intervals. If it doesn't blink at all, you need to change a fuse on the g-board. Once this is done run back through the stand-by blink light process, and more troubleshooting can be done if problem isn't already solved. If the stand-by light just keeps blinking with a count over ten just tell me, and I'll look for other possibilities.

Check that the lamp door is closed all the way. There is a saftey switch that closes from the door being on all the way. If not the status light will keep blinking. There is also a switch on the air filter door.

tour air filter cover door is either not tight, or off, or the small switch behind it is bad. it is on the side opposite the ac plug.

This is very common problem for sony. Blinking light is power supply problem need to replace two voltage reulators in supply and caps and sometime horz output.


Sometimes if you adjust screen voltage adustment on flyback just slightly it will fix it.
