Blink on Sharp Aquos LC-32D43U

Just before recognizing the HDMI input (input 4) there is a blink. This output is also heard through the speakers. I have RCA cables connected to an audio system from the TV. It works ok but I'm cocerned about the blink. Is this normal?

    Hey rlbstein...thank you very much. I really appreciate your comment. You've helped me alot. However, I'm not using a conveter box. I actually have a PS3 and this (blink, sometimes it shows some rice grains for about half a second) occurs when I change the imput from TV to HDMI. But it should be the same principle because as you commented, your actually changing from SD (480i) to HD (1080i). Thanks again and all the best to you Sir.

    I have connected an HDMI cable from my pc to Sharp Aquos LC-60C52U TV. The video comes through but no audio. I consulted the USER GUIDE which said switch Output Select from Fixed to Variable. Cannot switch over - stays in the FIXED. Please help.

If your using a HD converter box, there is usually a blink when switching from an HD channel to a non HD channel. It is just adjusting from different pictures modes such as changing from a 480i channel/show to a 1080i channel. If this is the case, its perfectly normal.

I try to connect my hdmi cable to my laptop with a vizio hdmi cable and the tv says not format... how do i address this issue

The input which you are using sounds like a USB port (which is looking for a virtual drive that needs to be formatted). Double check to make sure your laptop actually has an HDMI input (most laptops do NOT). The USB ports are different than HDMI.

When plugging in a new PS3 to hdmi input 4 or 5 on the Sharp Aquos LC-42D62U, it is not picking up the connection and I can't select it on the input menu

Does the HDMI output on the PS3 have to be turned on first in its settings? Make sure the settings on the PS3 are at a minimum of 720p as if it is set to 480i the TV probably wont notice anything connected to HDMI.

Aquos LC-32D43U, no audio

My suggestion would be to bypass all of your video components whatever you have be it a vcr, dvd player,whatever and just hookup the tv direct to whomever you receive your cable tv from. Because it was working before you moved it and disconnected the external audio source. Remember if your using HDMI cables they are your audio and video together and you don't need to hookup anything else from that device to the tv. Just FYI. Good luck.

My Sharp Aquos 46" LCD

Digital inputs on Aquos TV's are "always on," usually the HDMI inputs and DVI inputs. As opposed to analog inputs 1, 2, or 3, are only activated once something is plugged in.
Try plugging in another HDMI sources into input4 or 5, if its still not working, the TV needs a new Main Board. Try calling Sharp 1-800-237-4277 and locating a local service center in your area.

No POWER

How many times does the POWER led flash per second? (Dont worry about the OPC).

1x (steady constant blink) = Lamps or inverters
2x = Power Supply
3x = Main Unit

If i am reading it correctly, looks like the POWER led is flashing 2x, which means it is a power supply failure. Either way, your TV needs to have a board replaced, there isn't anything you can do to fix it yourself. Try locating your local sharp authorized service center to repair your TV (1-800-237-4277)
