Question about Sharp Viewcam VL-AH151U Camcorder
Every time i put a tape in it keeps telling me cassette not recordable when i power up then it displays protect.tab. I slide the tab on the tap over to record or erase and it still displays cassette not recordable and protect.tab could someone please give me some info. on what to do?
Make sure the little red tab on top of the tape is set to record and not save. The camcorder will not let you record it its set to save

Camcorders have a sensor, often a small manual bumper, to detect if the write-protect tab is engaged or not. It sure sounds like yours is damaged, preventing the detection of a writeable tape. Check to make sure there's nothing obstructing it (obviously, it'll be near where the copy protect tab goes when the camcorder is closed).
