Hello, i am trying to reset my computer to its original factory settings. I do not have the restore disk.. I have a Acer Aspire 5315.

Hi.

If you never tampered with your partitions you should still have a recovery partition hidden in your hard drive.

Restart your computer and press ALT F10 many times until you get the Acer recovery page. Follow the steps and it should be easy to get back to the factory defaults.

I have upgraded my Aspire 5315 from Windows Vista to Windows 7. Can I now install Acer Recovery Management disk.. Thank you Mike Newbon

you can if the version of acer recovery system management disk is compatible to windows 7

My Acer Aspire 5315 has problems with the screen. It does not come when I press the power button. It stays off constantly??

Have you tried pressing the Fn+F6 keys together ? That keyboard combination is used to toggle the Acer Aspire 5315 screen off and on.

What are the steps on how to reformat the acer aspire 5315-2698 laptop?

Hello,

Please restart unit, then press the key combination ALT F10 continuously as soon as you see the Acer Logo screen. It shoud then say something like "loading files". When that is done, the recovery program will be loaded and then follow screen instructions.

Acer 5315-02153 Recovery disk instructions

When you start your computer press f1 or f12, it will let you know on the screen, you want to press the one with set-up on it. Now find boot sequence and put cd rom as first boot sequence, that way it will boot off the disc and not the HDD (harddrive)

Solution for reset password

1. to reset password in acer aspire 5315 simply take a _small_ flathead screwdriver.. contact the two points leaving the battery, power on, power off and the password is cleared.

No, Acer no longer supplies the recovery discette off the bat. However if you call their customer service they can send you one.

Yes you can use the recovery partition which should be built into the hard drive. press f2 on the bios screen and follow the on board instructions. this will return the laptop to its original factory state. Keep in mind that this is a destructive reinstall of windows and you will lose all data and programs.

make sure you do a recovery and NOT a system restore to earlier date.
