Frustrated i recently went to work for a company that provides a cb in every truck the one i have is a dx40v and its sounds pretty good but i am curious about its other functions and would really like to get my hands on just the instruction manual that came in its original box.how could i get it?

It's not grounded good. Also, make sure your battery to the vehicle is grounded good to the frame. Check that your CB is hooked into an accessory power switch, in other words one that provides power when the key is on but vehicle hasn't been started yet.

sounds like you fine tuned it to much . Now take it to a tech and get it done right.

You can check out e-bay. I have seen them on there. You can Google Cobra200 GTL Night Watch faceplate this though. I have done this before. Google CB shop. Don't matter where they are and see if they have a 200 GTL Night Watch face plates (both pieces) in a parts radio laying around. You may be surprised. Let me ask this, what went out on the faceplate? The cord or the leds? You can buy leds that change just like that on the net and simply replace them. Good luck to you. They are pretty radios and who can go wrong with Cobra?

Sounds like you could have a bad soilder joint in the radio. If you hit the top or bottom of the radio does it help? If so its soilder. You match your antenna to your truck not the radio. You might want to recheck it.

Yes, it could have went bad,to check the speaker,unhook the wiring,take the cover off,speaker side,use a 1.5 volt battery touch it to the terminals of speaker, do you hear any pop or scratching sound?If so the speaker is good. ..Hope this helps..

You would be surprised how little people actually talk on CB radios these days. I went through similar struggles a few years ago. Unless you are in a major trucker area, the CB radio is basically silence.
Check out the weather channels (anything on the WX setting) to make sure that your radio is receiving frequencies correctly. If that doesn't work, then it is your box, but I bet that will work.

Why do you have to fix it? If the local CB shop looked at it last then take it back to them its their problem.
