Hi!
I have an old Infocus LP335 DLP projector that I am trying to debug. The lamp is not firing and the spark switch gap is clicking and sparking when it trys. Perhaps the spark switch gap is bad and needs replacement or is this a sign of a bad lamp? Thanks in advance
It could be the lamp. I have seen this many times on DLP'S. If the ballast is firing it which is usually around 600 volts or so, then i would say it is fine, and only needs a lamp. Let me know if that helped you. Later Jay

yep.. the lamp! works like a charm. learned alot about how to take apart and put back together in the process though! :-)
i only have about 205 hours on my projector and it is clicking like the thing is trying to fire but doesn't. is there another proble that it could besides the lamp?
thanks

LP335 projector not turning on
How do you know if the ballast works? I opened my nec projector because the lamp would not fire. It tries to fire many times and then turns off. I can see something glow neon blue on the ballast just before it either shuts down or goes through the re-fire process. Should I hear a clicking like some people are explaining?
