If test light is a 12 volt light tester AND ILLUMINATES BRIGHT it shows that a component is actively trying to complete a circuit and yes drawing power causing a drain on your battery, now if test light illuminates low, possibility could just be ecm memory or antitheft system active . either way this test should only be done with a 12 volt test light as if you use a 5 volt (computer friendly) tester , false light will have you chasing a ghost. trust me. that trick helps by checking for parasitic draws a 12 volt tester does not illuminate when keep alive memory voltages are present . those voltages are not enough to drain over night. good luck
Yes! it is very possible, specs are different in none original power adapters, because it sounds like the charging circuits are working. I recommend getting the original adapter for your model.
An orange light is illuminated on the power supply for one of the following reasons:
The console is turned off.
The power supply is disconnected from the console.
The power supply cord is not fully inserted into the power socket of the console.
The power supply is faulty.
The console is faulty. (The console might be faulty if it does not turn on when the power supply light is orange.)
Step 1: Try to connect and then disconnect the power supply
loadTOCNode(2, 'whattotry');
Follow these steps to connect and then disconnect the power supply:
Turn off the Xbox 360 console.
Disconnect the cord that connects the power supply to the console.
Reconnect all the cords, and then try to turn on the console.
if after this also your console does not power up then you need to check if you are seeing any flashing red lights on the power button of Xbox 360, if you see the red flashing lights then you would have to get your power adaptor replaced by calling up MS Customer Support.
If you do not see flashing red lights on the console power button in that case the console itself would have to be send for repairs

It is normally reccommended that the adaptor goes straight into the socket so check the faulty one to see if it does rather than being plugged into a power strip.
1:) the battery is dead, and needs to be replaced ( suggest e-bay china seller for cheapest )
2:) the AC adaptor or dc socket on the motherboard is Faulty.
3:) motherboard fault, regarding charging circuit board.
Go for the most cost effective option First. New Battery. Then AC Adaptor. Finally would be motherboard replacement.
Sounds like you may have a problem with the internal power supply box? I am not sure but that may be at least something for you to have checked out. If the fan is not spinning this is usually a sign this may be what the problem is. GOOD LUCK!
In order to narrow down the issue, I suggest you the following steps.
1) First of all we have to power drain the Camera. Take out the battries and unplug adaptor, now hold the power on putton ( Click Button) for a minute this will clear the static power on Camera.
If this doesn't fix the issue, Than....
2) As cam is working fine with Ac adaport and batterys are not working you have to check the cam with the new battries. If you store battries for a long time with out using them, they may result in battery drain.
If this doesn't work.
3) Then it need a Physical check, where we can track if Power suply from battries are reaching till its destination or not.
This is the way to narrow down the issue.
Thanks you.
