Question about Activision Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare for PlayStation 3

1 Answer

So my computer games have been lagging way too much. I use an HP laptop pavilion to play certain games like Call of duty, Crossfire, etc. and all of the games get around 20-30 FPS. What's weird is that when I switch my power plan to high performance, it goes to like 60, but after 5-10 minutes drops to 10 or lower. But it stays at a steady 20-30 on power saver. The other options are pretty much the same thing as high performance. I've done EVERYTHING, from stopping unneeded processes, to defragging, changing resolutions, lowering graphics, Ccleaner, etc. nothing has worked. I really need help, my laptop meets all the minimum requirements, but why is it running so slow! I think it is because it is getting too heated, but I don't have any money to buy anything so can you just give me ways to reduce heat that actually work?

If its just the game itself it might be your network. maybe a server or something is wrong?

When ever I play video and sound files, or run computer games, even computer booting up, the audio is laggy and choppy with lots of static, and video playback is accompanying it by being choppy and laggy. ...

I would reinstall the sound driver by going to the control panel choose system then when the device manager tab comes up choose hardware.Find the sound devices then right click on it to remove it.Windows will autimatically re-install the device.

the problem could be that your router cannot handle the amount of bandwidth that you need for the game, there are certain routers that can and cannot handle the amount of information needed for online gaming

My guess is that the laptop gets hot and then goes into a powersaving plan to reduce heat production, as a sort of overheating protection. If you want to stop this, run the game on a better cooled machine (dekstop PC) or get a laptop cooler.
