I need to change modem password - 2wire 1800HG Router (RG1800HG00)

At some time in the past someone changed the password. You will need to change the modem back to its factory settings. This is different of each brand of modem. Check in your modem's manual for the correct procedure or google the modem's model number to locate the manufacturer's online manual (most have them these days).

In your internet browser navigate to 192.168.0.1, username/pass is admin/admin or admin/password - Wireless settings - Change the SSID text and enter a new password in the WPA encryption

First, you'll need to reset the router, this is typically done via a tiny reset button located on the back of the router (you'll need a paper clip to press it). After that, changing the password requires you to know how to access the router options. This is different from brand to brand, but typically by simply going onto Google and searching for your modem's address (might be an IP address or actual address, like linksusrouter). Then just go into the settings, find the "change password option" and viola.

You should not have to restart your modem after changing the password. Once you change that password you might be promt to enter your new password in to establish an internet connection following the password change. The preferred method to to access your modem is through your computer with the modems IP address.By default most of the afaq shamels passwords are as follows:
Default IP: 192.168.1.1
Username: Afaq_shamel
Password: stccpe_2007

Type in that IP address in any internet browser (Fire Fox, IE, etc) You should be prompt to enter in a user name and password. If the one mentioned above does not work try:
Username: admin
Password: password

You need to hard reset the modem. By doing that, unplug the modem from the power outlet. Look at the back of the modem, you will see there a small red button. You need to press that button. You need to get a pin or pen to press that reset button. Press the reset button for 5 mins. Monitor the power light. It will change to orange light and it will restart. Once it restarted, you can release the reset button and wait for the lights to come up. Since you did the hard reset. You need to configure the modem with your username and password from your ISP.

You need to access the gui or firmware of your modem. If it ask for username and password. This is the time you need to contact your ISP. They will help you to configure the modem. Once they provided you the username and password ofr your modem. Write it down so you will have a copy and in case it happen again you know what to do. Username and password for the modem is different from the username and password for your internet. You also need to enter the username and password for the internet so you can use the internet. If you get a red light for the internet, that means the username and password is incorrect.

You want to change Password of server
Open right click on Administrator & change Password & conform & ok.
