Without knowing your skill level, your best solution is to get a repair tech on site.

I would suspect that the power supply is shot. If you can get to it easily, verify the power in voltage and then the power out voltage.

However, there are many possible causes, for example, on the IBM copiers I used to service there was w fuser overtemp sensor and a fuser lamp fuse. If either of them opened, then the same failure would present itself.

I must mention that I have not worked on an IBM Copier for about 20 plus years but the design of products such as copiers demand safety cut-offs.

I have an Epson 3520 WF and it was working perfectly. I was printing with it just a little while ago. It went to sleep and now it won't turn on. I have checked the cable, it is fine.

If you get no lights at all when you try to turn it on, it could be either the power cord or the power supply inside. It will cost more than a new printer to fix most likely.

I have a Cannon MP510 printer. I have used it recently, no problems. I tried to turn it on this morning, but it does not turn on. I checked for power at the plug to the printer and it is fine. Tried a few...

Disconnect the power cord or AC Power Adapter from both the device and the electrical source. Reconnect it after waiting a few seconds.. If you are still unable to obtain power to the device, try another power outlet. This is to eliminate the chance the electrical outlet is not experiencing issues. You can also plug a lamp or another device into the electrical outlet you have the printer currently plugged into. If possible, try connecting power directly to a wall outlet (as opposed to using a surge protector or power strip...just as a troubleshooting measure). If there is still no power, then another power cord/adapter may need to be tried. If the above does not resolve your issue you should contact Canon as it seems to indicate that your product requires repair service. If your printer is still under its 1yr limited warranty Canon will be happy to assist you. Click the link below to locate an authorized service facility and obtain further instructions. My hp printer 6110 officejet all in one keep giving message scanner failure when i want to print something

Please make sure that the printer is connected to a wall outlet and not to a surge protector because surge protector distributes the total electric supply equally to each and every device connected to that surge protector. Printer might work and might not with a surge protector but it will always work fine with a wall outlet till the hardware of the printer and power chord, adapter are working fine.

some times scanner failure error comes if it is not getting enough power supply. So if it is connected to a surge protector then I will suggest you to disconnect it and connect it directly to a wall outlet.
Now scan or copy any document and see if something happens.

If not the do check while you press scan or copy button the scanner light is moving or not?
If scanner light is not moving then do a hard re-set.

Hard Re-Set :
- disconnect power chord from the back of the printer and then from wall outlet or surge protector.
- wait for 40 secondsand then connect the power adapter to wall outlet and then to the back of the printer. The try to scan or copy....still not working then check if the scanner bulb is glowing or not?

If scanner bulb is not glowing and if you dont hear any noise while you press scan or copy...then printer hardware has gone bad and you need to replace the printer

No power. Checked outlet, which is fine. Plug into the printer is in all the way. It was working this morning and now nothing.

It sounds like the fuse on your power supply is burned or the power supply board itself needs replacement.

Power is not comming into the printer

No power to the printer. 1) Either the power adapter is not connected properly.Remove the power cord from main power outlet and connect it to any other electric outlet. Also at the back of the printer there is a socket where the power got get connected.Remove power wire from there too and reconnect it. 2) If the problem is not solved then there are two possibilities:-- A) The power cord is faulty and needs replacement. B) Or the printer circuit board is got short and it has to be replaced. ------------ In both the cases A as well as B you need to get the fault checked by other spare power adapter or power supply board in printer. At local printer repair shops they have this parts in spare. They will get the fault checked and let you know that which part has to be replaced.Either the power adapter or power supply board. The cost of new power adapter is near to $10 and cost of new power supply board is near to $40. -------------- One more thing i want you to check is.In your printer power adapter there is one three pin power wire is connected. That three pin power wire wire goes from main power outlet to the printer adapter. In some cases that three pin power adapter gets faulty. If that three pin power wire is faulty then the cost of that power wire is just $2.So get that three pin power wire also checked. To see how this three pin power wire looks.See the fig below:--- helpmech_1.jpg
If this wire is faulty then its not much costly. ----------- This are all the possibilities that you will have to get checked. To get the fault confirmed.Thanks.Helpmech.

Keeps rebooting

Hi, Please check if it is connected to a wall outlet or to a surge protector...If it is connected to a surge protector then connect it to a wall outlet.....
- If it is working then fine....If not then remove all the cartridges...disconnect the power chord from back of the printer and then from wall outlet......wait for 40 seconds then connect the power chord to wall outlet first and then to the back of the printer....
- If working fine then ok or else check adapter is warming or not......and check with different wall outlet and with different power supply....
- Now do the following re-sets :
A) Disconnect the power chord from the back of the printer
B) Press and hold # and 6
C) While holding these keys connect the power chord to the back of the printer and when you see that printer is warming up then release the keys.....
Or else replace the printer.

And also some of the electrical components used to build the logic board in the Cxxxx all in one printers about 2-3 years ago is failing. In my C6180 (with the same problem), there were 4 capacitors (see green cylinder shaped component in the attached - the bulge in the top indicates failure, and that this is the likely the cause) that I replaced (cost was about 60 cents!). If you are not comfortable doing some soldering yourself, you will have to find some help - it took me about 25 min to do the repair myself. Printer works great now.

Hope it helps..

Thanks for using fixya....

Hpdeskjet 940c printer

If the Power light is not illuminated, first check the power cable to ensure all connections are correct. Next, turn off the printer, then turn it on again. If the Power light does not become illuminated, the printer needs to be serviced. I believe if this doesn't work you have a bad power supply.
