The following link explains how to determine where a leak may be coming from in a Whirlpool Duet:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576656-washer_leak__front_loader

In many cases, the rubber bellow (door seal) is the source of the leak and will need to be replaced. If the bellow is ripped or torn the following link explains step-by-step how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574186-installing_a_door_bellow_on_a_front_load

NOTE: THe bellow does wear out from time to time and will need to be replaced. However, using too much detergent, the wrong type of detergent, or loading the washer excessively can contribute to premature wear and tear and deterioration.

If you have any questions, or are having problems determining where the source of where your leak may be coming from , please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

My whirlpool duet sport washer is leaking in the front underneath, not from the door. Does not do it when it drains. What do I do?

Hello Casey,
Its possible that the washer could be leaking from the door seal yet ya don't see it coming from the door. The way to check if its the door seal remove the lower panel and see if the concrete counterweight that's on the front of the drum...if ya see water dripping from that counterweight, its from the door seal.
If the door seal is not leaking ya would need to look at the pump and hoses on the tub while it was in wash mode to see whats leaking.

Water leak coming from under my washer wirlpool duet. what would be causing that?

you can remove the bottom panel in front on this unit... the screws are near the floor then that bottom piece can be pulled away... there is a clean out next to the pump assembly run some water and see where water is coming from most likely a hose or pump assemble is leaking ..check all hoses like i said run unit and you should be able to use a flashlight and find the culprit water leak...
good luck to you

Water is leaking from the bottom of the door while in the wash and or rinse cycle

Hi,

  • Check the pump & all of the hoses first.
  • If you see water leaking from the bottom of the tub this could indicate a bad tub seal.

Leak

Hi, If you remove the lower half of the front panel, you will be able to see the pump and hoses. Another option is the bellows around the door. Please let me know if this helps or if I can assist you further.

Water leaking from the door and front panel of my Duet washer

Check the rubber door seal, sounds like its split which is common after 2-3 years use.
You can find the general area of the leak by placing dry newspaper on a dry floor beneath the machine.

Whirlpool fron load Duet washer leaks

Check the easy stuff first, fill hoses tight?- drain hose cracked? Failing those checks, cut a piece of cardboard slightly smaller than the size of your washer. Slip the cardboard under the washer and run a short load. Look carefully at the water mark on the cardboard. The mark on the cardboard the water leak will leave, will help you tell from which side or front to back the leak is common from. This will help point you in the correct direction to look for the trouble maker.

thanks.
