Take out your memory card. There should be a tiny little swich with the word 'lock' next to it on the side of the memory card. Slide the switch into the 'unlocked' position and reinsert the card.
If your camera still says 'card locked', try formatting your memory card (should be available as one of the options in your camera menu). Do note that this last step erases all your pictures.
Hope this helped,
tS

Does this camera take a memory card, separate from the built-in memory of the camera? If so, remove that memory card and look closely at all sides and edges, to make sure that there is not a read-only protection switch on it.
Many of these memory cards have tiny switches, sliders back and forth, that protect the memory from being erased.
If you slid that switch into the locked position without being aware that it is there, and without knowing that you did, then the error message makes sense.
Remove the memory card and look at it very carefully.

Card locked appears on screen

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

When i reinserted my memory card camera wont work and the words card locked appear on screen

Hello

Take the memory card out of the camera, have a look on the side of the card, there will be a switch. Switch the lever to unlock the card.
Reinsert the card and switch on the camera. This should do the trick.

Kind regards
Andrea

The card is locked appears on screen when SD card is inserted

Is it possible for you to use some tweezers and adjust the very small lever inside the camera's card bay? It may be stuck thus telling the camera the card is locked.
