Connecting iPod Docking Station to Video 4

I am attempting to connect my new iPod docking station to Video 4 which according to the documentation is intended for video cameras etc.I am getting the sound through but the video signal, which should show up on my TV monitor, is not working. I have connected both to the S-video and yellow video input.

Does Video 4 work like the connections on the back of the Onkyo? I could disconnect my Sonyo Juke Box from Video 3 and connect the docking station there if necessary. However, if Video 3 and Video 4 are supposed to work identically, then my current problem may indicate a fault with the docking station.

Can you help please?

Thanks,

Basil Joffe

Setting up ipod video

According to page 34 of your owners manual, your docking station will only allow you to listen to audio from your iPod/iPhone. Video on your yamaha can only be viewed via composite, component and HDMI sources.

When docking my itouch to bose docking station i have to play around with it to get it to work or else if get just a lot of static

One or both of the connectors may be damaged or there may a "dry joint" where connector is soldered onto the circuit board within the docking station. Alternatively, there may be some dirt or dust stuck between the connectors causing a poor connection. You can try sharply blowing into the connectors or try using a small brush such as an electric razor cleaning brush to remove any dirt/dust. If this doesn't resolve the issue you need to try connecting another iPod to the docking station and see if you still get the static noise problem. If not then the problem is probably confined to your iPod only.

Edifier brand docking station works with my ipod nano with auxillary cable but will not work in the docking port - no sound and no charging. Please suggest a solution. Many Thanks Stephen

There might be some issue with the docking ports. Try to connect a different iPod and see if its working, if its not working then there is some problem with the Dock connectors in the docking station.

My ipod is not connecting on Bose docking station.

Some of the older docking stations don't recognize the next gen iPods.
Refer to your user manual to see what iPods are compatible with your system.

Speakers won't work when Ipod is docked

The problem is that Atlec Lansing used a low quality (piece of ****) plug/interface for the dock. If you pull the top of the ipod forward while it is pressed fully onto the docking station, you'll get a surprise. It will work. This problem stumped me for days. Now, the next question is how much tension is the proper amount not to degrade the cheap plug further or damage the ipod itself.

Cheers,
Jeff

Denon ASD-3w ipod dock not being recognized by denon 3808

I successfully connected the ASD-3W to the Denon 3808CI using the supplied AV/Control cables (dock control, L & R audio, S-video). I used the video and audio input connectors marked VCR (iPod) on the 3808CI and used the default settings. I used the connector marked Dock Control for the control cable. These VCR (iPod) connectors are different than the input connectors marked VCR. I turned the source selector to VCR/iPod Stereo and operated the GUI using the ASD-3W remote control. I was able to play music and video.

PHILLIPS HTD 7001 IPOD DOCKING STATION

I also have the same problem but now I think it's the type of I-Pod you use. Do you use the I-Pod 80 Gb video or the newer 160 Gb I-Pod with the cover flow etc. ? The documention of the HTD7001 says it's only support some I-Pods. I would know sure if I would have a type of Video I Pod wich is supported by the documentation
