check in the menu to see if you have accidently set the line type to digital or pbx. check also that the line is connected to the line socket and not the tel socket as on some machine this can stop transmission also you can check to make sure yu dont have to press 9 or 0 first in the menu for fax set up check the configuation of the line.. ie pulse or digital.or tone dialling

Is the phone line plugged into the LINE port?

Verify that you have a dial-tone by plugging a regular phone into the wall jack

Make sure the phone cord is plugged into the LINE jack..

Dial the number from a regular phone and listen for fax tones.

Hi my name is Hector and my problem is >>my phone line is working but not with the fax ..I pressed something on the fax and now I have no dial tone on the fax???but all my other phones work..I dont have a owners manual.

the glass strip is bad, this is what reads the fax.
look in the manual under Maintenance for the location
