GE JP350 wiring problems

I need to reinstall new switch infinite control on my GE radiant cooktop, Model JP350BC1BB and did not take the time to make a note of how the wires were hooked into this control. The wiring diagram furnished is of no use. Can you furnish me with a more detailed diagram showing this control and what wires go where? Your help is greatly appreciated!

Hi sounds like you have a busted switch assembly, this is very much fixable the part is around $50, but you would need to remove the top of the stove which requires pulling the unit from the counter, this is slightly more involved, but definitely doable i would also change the knob. A more accurate name would be infinite switch.

I have a Jenn-Air radiant cooktop, two of the burners run on high no matter where the control knob is set?

This is usually the infinite switch has failed. They are easy to check and inexpensive. Here is a video that will walk you thru testing an infinite switch. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations for your specific model. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.

My Viking VECU105 electric cooktop has one burner which will not regulate the temperature. It can be turned on and off with the control knob, but after that, there is no temperature control. Any ideas on...

It will need either a dual infinite or infinite switch, If the burner has an inner an outer element then it requires the dual.

Firstly turn power off at breaker.

The unit needs to be removed from the cut out and the cover removed from below the swtichs. the knob taken off and the secureing screws removed, then take note of the layout of the wiring and the poistion of the switch, then swap the wires, reassemble test and then re-install

Kenmore Radiant Ele Cooktop

They have a thermal overload resistor in the burner itself and they have a propensity to burn out, making it either all off or on, or it could be the infinite switch. I would check the resistor first. All the way cool you should get close to no resistance. Heat it up with a blow dryer and there should be more resistance. For the infinite switch, you will have to check resistance across the leads that correspond to each pinout as to what it goes to. You can find this out by backtracing the wire to each terminal on the block. Replacement of either part is the only option, there are no safe alternatives to repair them. Hope this helps. BTW, you can go here for parts.
