I have a Maytag Ensignia Washer Model Number MAV9657EWW that is leaking water from underneath at the fron on the right side. What might the problem be and how do you take off the fron panel?
I think the leak is from underneath the pump. Did anyone find out the solution to the leak on the other posting?I think the leak is from underneath the pump. Did anyone find out the solution to the leak on the other posting?
I have the same problem. Just took mine apart here is where you can see how to get the front panel off. If I figure out the problem I'll post an update.

The drain hose has to be at least 30 inches above the floor or gravity will drain the machine. Also: If the water hose is jammed into the drain a siphoning affect will occur in some instances.
Thanks for the quick responses.Pulled front cover, ran a load on high level, no leaks .Ran a load on super level and when drum spins when full of water water level rose and poured out of left front side on top of drum. Pulled plastic ring on top of drum and and found piece of seal missing where leak occured .Ordered upper tub seal, should solve problem
The older models had screws at the base to remove. The newest ones have spring clips instead of screwsthis is a dryer but basically you washer fron panel comes off like this when you release the spring clips on each side with a simple putty knife.
sounds like several problems. sounds like your boot stem/ seal is leaking and possibly the tub bearing is rusted. I generally replace both at the same time as long as the machine is apart anyway. As for the squealing and tub slamming to a stop, that is your brake package and bearing have dried and/or rusted and need to be replaced
WATER LEAK FRONT RIGHT SIDE, SPIN CYCLE NOISY
