The easiest way to solve it would be to download Firefox Browser (from www.firefox.com) and forget about Internet Explorer. It's a better browser - more features and a bit more secure than IE. It will import all you favorites and more from Explorer (Watch for the opption when it first starts up.

Otherwise, you can let it go the website, then answer all the questions. What happened is it updated itself and wants to get settings from you.

From google homepage type in anysite and then says weboage cant be displayed

Check first if you have internet connection..page cannot be displayed may cause computer is not connected to the internet. If you are using Wifi connection, check the wifi switch of the laptop if it is turned on..You may try also to connect the computer using a LAN cable first and check if you will be getting the same problem..
Let me know the result...

I have a wireless network, it shows that I'm connected as I attempt to access the web via internet explorer, you can see the homepage address on the bar and then I get a notification that IE can not...

The display of the home page address is really your request, and not always the address where you are at.
If your running Windows, check the network connection in your control panel to see if your really connected.

When asking this sort of question, you really need to present more details, like the version of OS your running

I believe the checkmark light is to say that the internet connection has been successful. Are the laptops connecting to the router but not the internet?
Connect a PC/laptop to the router via ethernet cable and goto the routers homepage (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1). then double check that your ISP settings have been entered correctly. This should get you online, if the problems persist contact your ISP to clarify your broadband settings, user logon, and that their service is up and running.
Hope this helps, www.PuterCare.com

USB cannot connect to wireless network

"Page cannot be displayed" means "no internet connection".

Go to Start > All programs (XP) and look for Linksys. There should be a "manager" or some type of program. Run it, And look for a tool that will change from "AP mode" to "station mode". Once it makes the change, the networks should pop up. Select yours.

Internet issues

Hi,

In the right bottom corner of the screen you can see the Wireless icon, right click on it and select Connect to a Network.

Then a box will be opened where you can see the available routers. Select your router click on connect.

If it still shows that it is connected but Internet explorer won't display page, then once try to ping Websites.

Click on Start--Run

type ping www.google.com -t and press Enter.

You should get reply from the Website. if you won't get reply, then there is no Internet connection at all. In that case, you can try the below steps:

1. Press the Start button, then select Run..
2. type cmd in the dialog box, and press OK.
3. In the command line interface that appears, type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.
4. Then, type ipconfig /release and press Enter.
5. Now type ipconfig /renew
6. Exit the command prompt.

That should resolve the issue.

If you get reply from the Website and Internet won't display page, then download and install the winsock.exe file from the following Web site:
http://www.pchell.com/downloads/WinsockXPFix.exe

This bring the connectivity to Browser.

Try that and get back to us if the issue persists.
