I purchased a Gateway DX4822-01 with an Acer GT43-AM V.2.0 motherboard. I am transferring everything from the OEM case into a HTPC 8000 Media Center Case. I need to know the F-Panel pin configuration in order to hook up the power on, reset HDD led etc. I could really use the manual for the motherboard but Gateway is telling me they don't have it. Hope you can help. Thanks

I purchased a Gateway DX4822-01 with an Acer - eee970d.jpg

This is your standard front panel configuration. the wires from the case should have different colors for positive and negative. the colored wired is usually positive and the white typically negative. please refer to case manual for clarification. you can also test to make sure this is where the power switch location is by "jumping it" with a flat head screw driver. i would do this to verify the location first. again this is simply the standard configuration and i can't guarantee that your board is set up this way.

hope this was helpful.

I need a schematic diagram for GATEWAY H57M01G1-1.1-8EKS3H Motherboard. I have a Gateway DX-6801 case.

top do what, ? exactly, not told
ahhhhh using wrong mobo in wrong case that it.?

Gateway does not sell DIY mobo kits and that means
they do not document there custom header pins nor cables to front of case, same as dell and HP do not. and Acer.
etc. no OEM does, 99% ,
my Dell and HP workstations do, pro grade but not GW,
why not tell what stopped you in your goal first
even the board size can be wrong ATX to micro ATX
or ? wores.
all custom audio panels, USB and aLl front panels are custom wired, there is no standards for that ISO or ATX, at all.

all there is , is here, and will not be good.
there is no schematics at all.
but of what not told, name one thing that stops you.?

Fan runs but will not boot

This is wrongly listed under Gateway LX6810 which may be why it remians unanswered. If the HP media center works anything like my Gateway, the problem may be in the power switch. Mine had 4 wires running off it, 2 going to the motherboard, 2 running up to the media center (which in my case was a bear to see without removing the hard drive and a few other things).
Replacing the switch inclusive of all 4 new wires, solved the problem. The connectors on these are very delicate and can break off internally in the switch where you can't see them,

A techie told me that the reason my Gateway 7330GZ notebook will not power on is a faulty power distribution IC on the motherboard. The part is impossible to find in my part of the globe (Nairobi, Kenya)...

You need to replace the motherboard. This may not be a cost effective solution.
It may be better to put your money towards a new laptop which will be faster and most likely slightly more than the cost of repairing the Gateway.
You can remove the hard disk from the Gateway and put it into an USB hard drive adapter case and then use it as an external USB hard drive for backups and data transfer.

I missed my motherboard cd please help me.

Open up your computer case look at your motherboard, The manufacturer name and model number will be in plain sight. Go to the manufacturers website and go their support page to download the drivers for your motherboard.
If the motherboard was OEM and came in another company's computer (Gateway, Dell, HP, Compaq, Acer, etc.), go to the computer manufacturer's website and search for the drivers for everything simply by entering the model number of your computer.

Need replacement Gateway 500 Media Center motherboard

Well of the 4 things needed for a pc to power on and work, you have replaced two. Next would be the mother board or CPU so if you have spare parts to test with I would try those.

Reinstalling xp will not take my product key

If you are reinstalling Windows XP from a NON-DELL disc, and trying to use the Dell OEM product key, it will not work.
OEM versions of Windows have a modified precopy2.cab and a retail version of XP will not validate the OED product key from the chassis. This is because the OEM media for Dell has a precopy2.cab that pre-loads the product key when the system is BOOTED to the OEM media (It also pre-activates the OS)
Your choices at the point are:
  1. Re-install the OS from a Dell OEM CD (They can be purchased on EBay for around $20, and only work on Dell Systems)
  2. Purchase a valid Retail Key from Microsoft

Gateway PC into Antec enclosure?

Hi:
You should be able to transfer your motherboard to the new case, but some things to check before you do:
How do the power switches and front audio/USB connections work for the old gateway? Are they standard or vendor specific? Are the optical drives in the gateway standard, or do they have special fronts on them? I have done what you are wanting to do several times, and often you need to replace OEM optical drives, and sometimes the motherboard headers don't match up with a builder case, so you do the best you can.

I have a Gateway FMC 901 and I want to update the motherboard to todays standards Is it possible?

To the contrary, the MCE Gateway 901x media center PCs cannot be upgraded via a new motherboard. The board's size was custom built for gateway and it doesn't comply to ATX standards. The best you can do is buy a 3.4ghz Socket 478 Pentium 4 Processor. I have tested the Prescott with 1mb of cache and Hyperthreading technology. I have not tested (nor will I because it is as of 2009, a $350 processor) the 3.4ghz Pentium 4 Extreme Edition with 2mb cache.

Best bet is to max the processor to 3.4ghz for $60 and spend $75 on 2gb or RAM. The system will now run Vista Media Center edition, TV Pack 2008, and can accomodate a HVR 1600 HD capture card. That is as far as this system can go until it goes to the boneyard.
