Try using the function key to disable the touchpad. Most times they are sensitive and like to jump when you are typing as your wrists rub or pass over the touchpad.

How do i fix keystrokes that jump backward as I type?

Some Lenovo touchpads are over sensitive and they cause the cusor to slip or jump around. In Control Panel select Mouse or Touchpad. A box will open and you can locate touchpad Properties and adjust the sensitivity. Lenovo also has updated touchpad software/drivers for one or two of the most troublesome models. i was able to reduce the cursor jumping around quite a bit by adjusting the sensitivity, but i still don't think it's a good design.

On my laptop, the cursor jumps unpredictably to previously entered text.

The space bar 'contacts', internally are dirty or defective. You will probably need to replace the keyboard or seek from manufacturer a 'cleaning process ' for this keyboard.

Samsung labtop cursor jumps around when typing causing all kinds of problems including highlighting and erasing entire lines or sentences!

Press Fn & F10. This disables the touchpad. You will have to use arrows or a mouse to move the cursor. This helps when you are doing a lot of typing. Press the same keys to enable the touchpad when you are finished typing.

Jumping cursor on EEE pc.

You're hitting the touchpad with your palms as you type. Either lift your hands when you're typing or temporarily disable the touchpad.

Moving cursor

Hi, sheila_sharp.

Please make sure you remove any dirt and/or fluid found on your touchpad. Even the tiniest grain of dirt may result in this. If you are using an external mouse, poor quality mice may cause this type of behavior.

The cursor moves by itself during typing. It jumps to a position and I find myself typing in the wrong place.

I have found this is usually the small button in the middle of the keyboard (mouse button) I have tried some software to remove this problem but it did not on my laptop I ended up carefully removing the key board and disconnecting the two wires that go to the button My cursors kept moving across the screen
