Blue screen with Green Star-burst image in center?

I lost picture on screen while playing video game. Began with squiggly horizontal lines then I lost total picture. Attempted to turn set off then on now all that appears is a blue screen and a blueish-green "star burst image in the middle of the screen. (no sound) attempt to switch between components with no results. On Screen menus appear clear and fine, however there is no picture or sound. Any idea? Thanks in advance!

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.

For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.

Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:

12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected

Screen has gone grey and has fine horizontal lines on entire screen. Blue screen is out.

Either the screen voltage to picture tube is more than normal, or the video processor IC has damaged. There is an other possibility that there is no voltage at the video output card, plugged on to the neck of the picture tube. Insert game disk and horizontal lines move fast on screen ???????

Sounds like your TV has multiple video inputs. Make sure the TV is set to the right channel or input. I know on ours if I hit the TV-input button on the tv remote I can change from inputs like s-video, video, cable etc and the Wii only displays properly on one of them.

Monitor: Offset display

This is caused by sending a video signal to the screen at a refresh rate higher than 60hz. A LCD Doesn't refresh the image by scanning from top to bottom like a traditional CRT or picture tube. They are hard set to 60hz and can not understand anything else. Setting it to anything else will cause it to not display a video signal, picture tearing (little blocks with horizontal movement), Offset video or convergents issues (colors appear offset giving it the 3d movie look with out glasses on)

To fix it you need to go into your operating systems display settings and pick out a LCD monitor with a refresh rate of 60hz

Hope that helps

Screen has has horizontal white lines and a loud buzz with ps3.

it could be that your rca cables are damaged, you can try using different ones, or it could be that you have a setting to use rca cables turned off in your settings of the ps3.

Faint horizontal lines in picture

This is usually caused by a problem in the Horizontal Output section, around the Horizontal Output transformer usually a capacitor or diode going or gone faulty... the line you see are the Horizontal "Retrace" lines that are useually "Hidden" when the circuit is OK..
