I got this head unit from my sister. she has taken good care of it. i installed it in my eagle talon, worked perfectly and sounds great. ho ever about 8 months after, a couple of the buttons stopped working, then all of the buttons within 1 weeks period. the only button that works is the cd eject, other than that theres no volume, next, back, change source or any other button. still works and plays. have tried the reset button, and at one point didnt have battery hooked up to it for 6 months. im pretty good at fixing things but i dont want to mess it up if theres a solution. doesnt seem like theres much i can do though. if i dont get help or if i get a new cd player in my car, ill open it up and see if theres a blone solder point or disconnected wire and will post it.

Sounds like you may have a bad switch. if you have a multimeter you can check to see if a switch is reading less then a few megaohms. if one is reading a few kilo ohms, it is probably bad.

I got Sony Cdx-GT340 after 3 years my buttons stopped working, the reset button didn't work, other suggestion was to use cotton swab with little alcohol to clean contact, at first I cleaned but it still wouldn't work, so having nothing to lose, I really saturated swab and freely used it on male connector and quickly shoved it into female connector -- and voila!!! it start working!!!!!!!
