I want to format the mp3 player

The best thing to do would be to let the battery run out completly, charge it back up, and then turn it on and go under settings and find format. This will erase all of the stuff off of the player including the bad tracks and your music, so back all of your stuff up. Then select yes when it asks you to and let it format. This should fix that problem.

Change the connectivity to MSC mode. Settings->USB mode->MSC. Now connect it to your PC and remove the tracks if any. Reply if you need more assistance

try formatting the player by selecting format from the properties menu when you right click it in my computer.

Some DRM-encrypted files have a fixed time limit for how long you can use/play a song. after the time period has lapsed, they will show up as "Error - File Format..." (this is only one possibility)

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

I encountered the same problem with my Sansa mp3 player. To fix it, you'll have to reset your mp3 player, meaning all songs and files will be deleted when you format the mp3 player. To do so: Connect the mp3 player to your computer Go to My Computer Double Click on your mp3 player HD You'll get a Warning box saying "Formatting Will Erase ALL data on the device. This may include any settings stored on the device. To Format device, click on OK. Click OK Wait until completed with Format and you are "Bad track" free! Reload your songs using whatever software you use. I use Windows Media Player and was happy to see the songs I had on my mp3 player. All I had to do was sync them again. Hope this helps!
