First go to
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/win/142192 and download the newest version of the software. Sometimes a new program you load such as a game, media player, etc. may require a newer version of the software then what you currently have running.
This should fix the problem. If not, go into the control panel and click on Hardware and Sound in the right view panel. Click on Sound. Be sure that the playback and record tabs list Conexant as the default sound then click OK at the bottom of the window.
If this does not fix the problem check your volumn levels through the Control Panel and be sure the volumn is at adequate levels.
The next step will be to click on additional options in the left view panel. You will see several icons there. Click on Smart Audio. Click on reset to be sure the computer is using it's default settings.
You can also go to the Audio Director tab and be sure the speakers on the computer are turned on. You can set the speakers to play through the headphones or through the speakers only. Setting everything to default is usually best when trying to locate further problems.
Hope this helps everyone! Thanks!
