Connecting Toshiba laptop using windows vista to C7180

I am trying to connect a new Toshiba laptop which uses windows vista to an existing all in one printer currently set up to work wirelessly with a PC using XP. When trying to add the printer to the laptop, the printer's address appears, but the when trying to complete the installation, the printer's model is not on the list of supported printers. Have tried using the installation disk ( as per the laptop's instructions), have downloaded updates to the laptop, but cannot connect to the printer. Please if you can help.

Originally connected HP C7180 to Toshiba laptop (new running Vista) via Bonjour successfully until a serviceman somehow lost the whole damned lot. Now the Bonjour wizard does not have a printer list on it and therefore will not reinstall the printer. Printer driver that I have does not install on Vista although only 10 months old!! Now cannot use printer. - Jude

Hi there i know that HP are updating a lot of the drivers at the moment you could try the following websites

www.hp.com (Free download)
www.drivers.com (Small charge)

I hope one of those helps but also try the XP driver as may vista might work on XP driver technology.

Thanks J

I have constant trouble with my toshiba laptop using windows vista constantly losing the dial up internet connection.

If your telephone line may have disturbances from any electronic devices at any point then this could happen. Try moving other devices especially speakers, mobile phones and TV near the modem. Does your laptop wifi enabled one? Do you use telephone in that line? If so use a line filter with two out. could you give your laptop model no.? There is not enough details to pinpoint the problem

I am using windows XP in my Toshiba laptop sattellie Series. I am unable to make any new connection to connect to Internet.

That is because the L300 does not support XP.
If you reinstall Vista, all will be well again.
XP is no longer supported even by Microsoft as it is over 10 years old and now obsolete.
Hope that helps.

How do i stop vista from saving public wireless connections? i can't get dialog box to change settings. vista sp2 on toshiba laptop.

Open the Network and Sharing Center by clicking on the connection icon in the system tray by the clock. At the bottom of the window it will say Network and Sharing Center. In the Network and Sharing Center, on the left side of the window you will see a selection for 'Manage Wireless Connections' Click on that. A window will open with all the wireless connections that have been made with your laptop. Select the one you want and at the top it will give you the option to delete it. Vista automatically saves all public connections for use at a later date. When a new wireless connection is made Vista will ask you if it is a public or private connection and will give you the option of saving the connection. I hope this helps.

make sure that your not using Cordless phone and dont sit near to metal cabinet and see the direction of Wiress Router/Access points.

just make sure you get excellent or good signal from the wireless device, and delete ur existing wireless profile and re-create new one.

Hello there.

First of all i would try a newer version of the drivers as you are using Windows Vista. Please click here and download the 'HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers". While this is quite a big download, it contains the necessary drivers and software for use on Vista.

Please try this and if you still cannot COPY, get back to us.

Hope this helps.

Staying connected to internet, using sprint 595 air card

If I were you, I would let your windows manage your wireless network on the computer with vista. Also you might, If you haven't already tried using your install new programs in the control panel, As long as you have the sprint software downloaded in your laptop windows should still recognize the wireless connection, Try letting windows manage it from the Network properties and there should be an option there that lets windows manage you network. try it see if that helps you out. If not write back here and let me know we can try another route. Sorry you having problems.
