SOURCE: tdk da 5700 not recording

Cleaning will not help if it plays fine and does not record.

The previous owner was right, those can only record on "Music CD-R or Audio CD-R" . If it does not have that printed on the disc, it willnot record with it. many people think that a CD-R they use in the computer will work, but they won't. So make sure you are not using a CD-R meant for a computer.

Try using Sony, they work good for me on most all recorders I repair.

If that does not work, you may just need it to be serviced, or take it back to the guy you bought it from and get your money back. He sold you a bad recorder. They are very exspensive to repair most of the time.

Sorry I did not have better news, good luck and let me know if you need any more help.

Dave

When I hit the "Record" button, the recorder says "No Audio" - and I'm using TDK CD-RW disks ... any idea how to fix this ???

The disc has to stay music on it on the label. Ones you use for a computer to burn music will not work with a CD Recorder,

What does nocd-da-d2 mean when you try to dubb on a rca cdrw 140?

You need to use a CD that is coded to record music. I had this same trouble and found that using a TDK music CD it cured the problem.http://www.forestpro.net/BKArchives/062003.htm this site led me in the right direction.

The quick answer is that you're trying to use a blank Data CD on a consumer AUDIO recorder. No can do.

This is true for ALL consumer audio CD recorders. Buy blank media that has Audio or Music printed right on it.

No installation disc for lacie d2 dvd rw

You shouldn't need an installation disk, just burner software. May I suggest this free burner software? Infra Recorder. I used to use
Nero, but switched to Infra Recorder, and like it Much better!

1.Info about Infra Recorder on Wikipedia.org,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infra_Recorder
2.Infra Recorder homepage,
http://infrarecorder.org/
On this homepage you may want to go to the right, and click on
-> Screenshots, under the Pages heading.

If the Lacie D2 DVD-R/W burner drive is the only optical drive installed, Windows should 'see' it as new hardware. ("Found new
hardware" "Found Lacie D2 DVD-RW")

Be sure the 4-pin Molex power connector, is installed in this optical drive, also the interface cable, and the 4-pin audio cable.

NO RECORD

This message usually indicates that a non-audio disc is in the record tray. Please use only blank music CD-R or CD-RW media. Refer to page 12 of the owners manual for more information regarding acceptable media type for the DA-3826. Also, the laser lens in your CD might be dirty or failing. Try the following solutions: Clean the laser lens with a CD player lense cleaning disc. Lense cleaning discs are available at many electronics retail store. Sorry i can't help you more.
