Do a firmware upgrade on your router to improve the speed and also adjust the MTU size on the router settings to 1400 that will also help in speeding up the connection using the router........

What is the speed of a belkin router model F5D8236-4v1

Hello Anonymous

This router has several interfaces each with a maximum speed, so you should specify which one you mean.
For example, the wireless interface can reach up to 300 Megabits per second (Mbps) at most.
The RJ45 can connect at 10 or 100 Mbps
But what most influences the speed of a conection to the internet is the one you have contracted with your ISP.
I hope my explanation will be helpful.

Speed on Verizon Fios

I had this problem or similar. Verizon (in New England area) upgraded my speed to 7MPS Download and 1MBS upload. It was slower than the old speed. I called in Verizon and after a lot of back and forth - well, to be fair, they were good - it turns out that the router on their site was old. They unplugged us from it and put us on a newer faster router and Voila! Worth a shot.

Me tp-link give weak internet and some times dissconected but when i uesed by wire give excellant internet speed

Most probable cause is the materials used in the construction on the home/office or where ever you have the router. Your options would be to move the router to a more central location or you could invest in some repeaters/wireless extender to extend the range of the signal. IF you use wireless extenders please note you will need to make sure they all have the same SSID (name seen for your network) and make each device is on either channels 1,6 or 11. So your first device would be say 1 (Doesn't matter which you pick) the next device would be on 6 and then next on 11. If you had another device, hypothetically you would want it on 1. These three channels do not overlap enough to interfere with each other.

The router keeos on dropping the internet conection after an hour or so.

This problem is common on some routers and the best way to correct this one is to do a firmware upgrade on the router to let it provide a much stable connection , but just make sure the you internet connection is fine when connected directly to your modem so we can really say that the issue is with the router not with the internet service.

Once you;re really sure that the router is the problem you can perform a firmware upgrade on it and follow the step by step procedure from this link, just click HERE.

that is your internet conection, if u go 2 a web site called , www.testmyspeed.com, they will tell u what your download and upload speed r, if your upload speed is lower than 50 kbps , u will need 2 contact your internet provider 2 sort it out, sometimes your conection can be great 4 ages and then it can go realy bad cause of the amount of people using the same conetion that u dont know about.

Download speed slows when router is on line.

If the router is offline then your not downloading anything, most down loads start fast then fall to a level your pc can handle, aka your connection speed.

Internet connection

try to update the router's firmware to the latest one, if conection is still dropping try lowering the MTU size(by default its set to auto) to 1492, 1480, 1472, 1450 check which MTU size will make you connection stable.

Wireless routers

If your connection without the router is only 30 mbps, the speed with which you will connect will never be greater than 30 mbps. Adding the router adds latency, so yes a router will always slow your internet connection slightly. 11 mbps is still pretty fast considering when you are downloading something from a website the average speed is about 270 kbps. My wireless router connects my laptop at 54 mbps, it is a wireless N router, which is faster than a wireless G. That could be another factor.
