You have some bad grounds on the Vertical IC. In addition to this, in the immediate area of this Vertical IC, are a few bad capacitors. Look for this IC mounted on a large heatsink. It may have seven pins . I cannot remember for sure. I have not worked on this particular TV, so I cannot give you specific locations. But I assure the problem is in this area! If you have some electrical experience you can pull this board out. In this case only the caps need replaced and the IC resoldered. Good Luck and thank you for asking. hi... It sounds like an Intergrated Circuit (IC) has fried. Your best bet in this situation is to contact ur tv service operator and let them recommend an authorized service center in your area....
The problem you are describing is called loss of verticle deflection. You will find this will require diagnosis and there is no simple answer to this repair. Most likely there will be either bad electrolytic caps or bad vert. output IC in the vert. circuit.
If you are experiencing the vertical issues, I would check the tuner for poorly solder aroound the ground shield if the tuner is the one integrated on the main board.
Check this sity for the schematic diagram as well: //http://www.eserviceinfo.com/download.php?fileid=31473
the horizontal output transistor my be shorted out, or the flyback transformer my be open? Have you unsoldered and tested? If you are not a technician, or have no experience I would not suggest to work on the tv yourself.
good luck,
Mike
It sounds as you desribe, the vertical output IC and or the b+ feed capacitor off the Hi voltage transformer feeding the vert. IC its required voltage. Not a really hard job to replace, but not for a handi person to do. This should be left to the professional, as there are no user serviceable parts inside this set and with the HI voltage and the safety issues its best to call somesone to assist you with this repair. Good Luck
You have a vert sweep problem and unless you know how to trouble shoot this cuircit bring it to a pro. I found out mostly in these sets that the vert output IC is bad.. Also sometimes the b+ filter cap off the fly is leaky and made the IC to fail. Another thing is Im surprised to hear you got a pic with the vert failure and a bright line in the pic!! This could be a big problem when the sets fixed so dont run it too long like this. It could burn a line all the way across the screen and you will see a dark faint line in your pic because of this. BE CAREFULL!!
