Xbox wont power on past orange brick light

I have the same issue sometimes with my 360. You are going to have to unplug it from the wall, let it completely power down, then plug it into the 360 first, then the wall. It should work then.

Sorry to tell you this buddy, but i don't even need to see your console to know that it's totaled. First of all, the chips are attached to the board using lead free solder. Lead free solder melts at 217C (443F). You'll be lucky if you can get the xbox to 120C using that method. So no, you didn't perform a reflow. The only reason that works SOMETIMES is because the temperature causes tin whiskers to break down, which are the cause of red ring in a select few cases. Considering that an xbox operates at about 75C, and you blocked all ventilation entirely, you probably broke the 100C threshold. Electrolytic capacitors either melt or explode at 85C. Without capacitors, power cannot flow properly, which explains why the power brick keeps going from green(normal power flow) back to orange (either off or insufficient power). Buy a Xbox slim, and NEVER attempt that again. Apart from being an obvious fire and electrical hazard, you also rendered a machine that may have been repairable into a molten paperweight.

We STRONGLY recommend you not to use heat gun as it can heat other components, when your system have 3 red light and no fan are spinning it means that one of your fuses has gotten damaged and no power can go through your GPU chip.

We Fix Everything

If the console turns on (you hear fans running and the ring of light is lit), possible issues may be:
1. TV is not on the correct input setting.
2. Graphics card failure (If under warranty, you should be able to send the console to Xbox for refurbishing).
3. Other hardware/software failure.

If the console doesn't turn on (No fans or lights), check the following:
1. Is the power brick plugged into a wall socket?
2. Is the Xbox plugged into the power brick?
3. Is the power brick LED lit? (If you answer no to this, the power brick is likely the problem.)

Hi check on the power brick that when you switch it on at the mains you get the orange light on the power brick, if you have this watch this light as you press the on button on the console if it turns red on the power brick then you have internal error on your xbox, if it stays orange then try taking out the power lead out of the back of the xbox 360 then push it back in sometimes if you dont get it pushed in far enough it wont work push it in as hard as you can then double check by pushing it back in then try pressing the on button.

if when you turn it on at mains you dont have any lights light up on the power brick then this could mean you either need to change the fuse in the plug or the power brick has over heated and needs replacing, if you do have an orange light on it then instead of pressing the on button on the xbox try pressing the dvd drive open button and see if that then switches it on.

most of the time its just because you dont push the power lead in the back of the xbox far enough, you can push it in thinking its in far enough when its not try pushing it in that little bit further and you should find it will come on.

If you have no orange light on your power brick then you have no power running to the xbox so if there is no light you might need to buy a replacement power brick.

If you watch the power supply light it will probably
flash red for a 1/2 second then orange . And if
the fan shuts off then you have a shorted regulator and
it's normally the two closes to the Ring of lights P.C.
board plug . I have swapped those parts out before
but their tough to get of the board with out the right
tools ( reflow wand) the cost of repair shouldn't be
more than 60.00 -80.00 so shop around for the
best warranty.

if your power brick light is orange u need a new power brick 4 your xbox 360

try using another power brick if it still wont turn on then send it to Microsoft if its still in warranty if not run over your xbox and buy a ps3 and never look back at your xbox
