My best advice is pull the glove box cover open a small amount take a small flat head screw driver and try to reach in and release the latch good Luck let me know Mike L.
uder neath the glove box you should have 4 screws if not the little piston on the side has to come out and inside the glove box at the very end you should see 2 like clips that you pull out to unlock the box unit it should fall in your lap
All of the older answers are incorrect. Open the glove box. Remove everything from the glove box and set it aside. On the right and left sides of the glove box, there are some rubber stoppers. Simply push inward on the sides of the glove box toward the center so that you can open the glove box beyond the point where the rubber stoppers stop it.
After opening the glove box all the way (past the rubber stoppers) look inside, just above the blower unit. There are arrows on the left and right end of a rectangular black cover. Push the release tabs which the arrows point to, and remove the cover. Pull the filter out.
Install the new filter, and put the cover back in place by snapping it on as you found it. Push the sides of the glove box toward the center, and close the glove box. Open it as you normally would, and put your stuff back in the glove box.
This is a common problem with these cars, the glove box has a solenoid that locks and unlocks it, this is the problem, you will need to lock and unlock the doors with the door button not fob, you will need to do this several times until the glove box unlocks.
This sounds like yours is on the way out but if you lock and unlock a few times you should be able to get it to unlock, you may have to do this a few times, i know its time consuming but the lock will unlock.
When you get the glove box open, there are two reasons for this problem, first it may just need a little wd40 sprayed on the latch and arm, or the solenoid is bad.
The way to figure this out is with the box open spray solenoid arm and latch and then hit the lock and unlock a few times as you watch to see it move, again you may need to hit lock and unlock a few time to get it moving, once moving you will see the movement and then spray a little more, If the WD40 works then the latch will move with door locks but if you still get get the latch to move then you will need to replace the solenoid. The last thing may be a relay, there is a relay that controls the latch but most times its latch or wd40 being the problem.
There are TSB"s on this problem and if you bought this car from the dealer i would see if they would repair it at no cost to you, its worth a try.
auto door lock systems are great for draining batteries while the car sits. so are trunk, glove box, and other interior lights. someone is going to have to figure what is draining the battery while the car is off by troubleshooting it and eliminating things.
Take the dash and glove box off. Under where the glove box is there are two boxes, unplug the one farthest to the left. This completley disables the security alarm.
There is a fuse box diagram (or should be anyway) in your car manual (the one that is usually found in the glove box). If it's not there, I suggest doing a google image search. Good luck!
Regarding the heater issue: You may have some items from the glove box that may have been drawn into the heater fan. The intake for the heater system from the interior is right behind the glove box. It is a rather simple operation to remove the lower trim cover from the dash panel, under the glove box, and remove the 3 retention screws from the fan motor assembly. It drops straight down, Inspect the fan for debris.
Regarding the vibration when braking:
I would think that the front brake rotors are heat-distorted, and thusly slightly warped. Replacement of the front brake rotors will correct this condition.
