Hi,
I was lucky to still get one of the Yamaha RX V463 AV Receiver, because they are being replaced by newer models, and I prefered this one because it came with the IPOD dock.
Anyway, this is my first AV Receiver and I don't know much about them. I use a Playstation 2, and I tried connecting it to the Receiver. I have a problem because I cannot get any video to my TV. I get the sound but I don't get and image. I tried connecting it through the AUX connection in the front, I tried the DVD connection in the back and even tried the DVR and DVD/TV inputs in the back, but always ran into the same problem. Am I doing something wrong? How can I connect the PS2 to the RX-V463.
Thank you in antecipation
The rxv463 will not upconvert any video signals. its what they call a pass thru video switch. chances are you are using a red, white. yellow (composite) connection. you will then need to pass this yellow thru the receiver to the yellow output of the receiver and into the yellow input on the tv. the same rule would apply to the component inputs and outputs as well as the hdmis

Yes, it is compatible. http://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio-visual/accessories/yds-12_black__u/?mode=model
It has 2 modes of operation. For RX-V465 you need to select mode B. In this mode it is compatible with YDS-11, which is supported for RX-V465. But iPhone is not officially supported in this mode. But I have found on Yamaha website FAQ, where they claim that iPhone switched to Airplane mode worked well.
Here are two links for the Yamaha receiver, and the Sony user manuals.
Please look through them concerning your specific hookup. If you still have questions or need help, please let me know.
If you're getting audio out of one speaker, it's likely not an issue with how the TV's connected to the receiver, but an issue with how your speaker's are connected.
If you run a "speaker test", do you get audio out of all your speakers? If not, it's likely you mixed up your positive and negative connections when connecting your speakers.
After further research, I learned that I need to plug the turntable into a preamp before plugging it into my newer receiver. As with cassettes, record players are fading away. I ordered a preamp, but won't be able to experience success until it arrives.
