When i turn on tv, i get a picture for a second or two, then it fades to all blue screen, which lasts a second or two, then it fades to black. also, the stand-by red light flashes.

Look for bad solder it sound like you g2 is drop off
if you open the set and have some stand in front of it you tap the board to see if pix come back if it do them you have bad solder you can see the g2 on your pix tube
the g2 will not be lit up at this time.it a g2 pro.

this problem is due to blue video circuit. 1 Please check supply to blue video ckt. 2 check crt base for loose. 3 check loose contact & parts related to blue cathode. 4 blue signal coming from processor to blue video. 5 processor it self. 6 at last if tv is very old than check crt also.(possibility is rear) hope this will help.
