SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

The battery of your Digital Camcoder is probably busted, consider replacing your battery pack with a new one. You may also try cleaning the contact points of your battery pack and digital camera.

The battery or power adapter may be bad. Check both for power.

The white is the backlight showing threw this means the lc is in need of replacment just the screen alone will run you $75 bucks on top of any labor if you do not want to do it yourself.

Did you install ffdshow that was included with the install cd?

ffdshow is necessary to decode the video files this camcorder creates.
