Your mainboard has slot for SDram and DDR ram.You can`t use these modulessimultaneously, so you have to choose what ram to use. The mainboard max capacity is 2 gb. Check also the bios for the ram voltage settings.

This is a really old board.It's a socket A but it's older than the athlon xp series. You're stuck with an amd athlon not the xp series. Good luck finding acpu for that. Try ebay.
I hate to ask these questions, but have you dissabled the oboard sound (if any) in the bios as you could have a conflict.
If you have done all the neccassary things, try going to Start>Run, then type 'dxdiag' and hit enter for Windows to do a sound driver diagnosis to help with your problem.
