Question about Apple PowerBook G4 Mac Notebook
You can buy NEW parts on eBay. My (12") screen was $250, repair shop quoted upwards of $800 so I saved a bundle.
make sure your screen is not just 'dimmed', press F2 a bunch of times!
Try resetting your PRAM, I think you hold Ctrl, Option, R and S at startup. i'm not totally sure about these keys, google it.

Most likely u have a dead converter in your display assembly. Only fix to this is to replace it, or get a new display assembly.
You can change it yourself, but that will void all guaranties - and you need to get a second hand part, since they're not sold from any Apple store.
