Sometimes the slow response time from the receiver could be as simple as replacing the batteries in your remote with new ones. As power is drained from the batteries, there is still enough power to light up the buttons but not enough power for the different button functions, so try replacing the batteries. If that doesn't work you can readdress the remote to the receiver. I hope this helps.

Mine did it too, same time frame. I own mine, but after 3yrs. of reliable service Dish decided I needed a card and software update which I reluctantly did.
And sure as shootin', things started too screw up. I am positive it is the software screwing the 625's up. Sometimes recording sometimes not, Slow reaction time, Showing up on the 101 channel when I turn it on, System Integrity Tests EVERYDAY !?!?! what is it a nuclear reactor ? ect....
The real question is, was it done on purpose, or was it some "bright guys" screw up ?
Either way they win, the 625's will have to be upgraded $$$
I understand some people are/were screwin around with their DVR's. But I wasn't/aint one of them.
I'm gonna check out the Cable deals come spring.
