I have the same issue - along with ALOT of other people I've seen
posting on the internet. Even though it's a 20 cent fuse, you have to
replace the ENTIRE $200 control board. I say this is a defect
(intentional?) built in to happen exactly 13 months after purchase.

You don't have to replace the main PCB! Solder an in-line fuse holder in the same spot the fuse is located. Did this just last night and it was still running this morning, although the temp control is not working, that was probably the original problem that caused the fuse to blow in the first place. Still working on that issue. If anyone has some advice on the PWB Assembly Display board please let me know. Found a new board for $140, but still trying to trouble-shoot why it went out.

Here is a little more review:
Unplug fridge. Pull out from wall. Be careful not to stress/break ice-maker line if installed.
Open panel on back of fridge (the one at hip height that says Service Panel Only - Do Not Remove, blah blah blah)
See pictures of opened panel here: http://www.amazon.com/LG-LFC23760SW-French-Refrigerator-White/dp/B00198A5C0/ref=cm_cmu_up_thanks_hdr (more comments posted on Amazon regarding LG Customer Service)
Replace fuse with 9A 250V slow-burn fuse. I used a gray fuse harness from Radio Shack so that if the fuse needs to be replaced again I can just pop in a new one without doing the soldering over.
Since I nuked the original fuse, the end-caps and the wires that went from the end-caps/fuse to the motherboard. I replaced the leads (wires) with some I scavenged off a fresh thermal fuse (also bought at RS, just needed the wires themselves which seemed to be the same diameter/gauge as the original leads) and ran them through the back of the motherboard to the wire harness.
Use a hot iron. (but don't burn yourself).
So far, so good!
If still working in a few hours enjoy a cold beverage... you just saved yourself a lot of $$!
Good luck to you.
This worked like a gem for me. I had the similar problem with my 3 year old refrigerator, and after reading this post, i cleaned up the ice tray, found the fuse blown out..went to the home depot, bought the fuse, and fixed it.. Thanks a lot for the detailed pictures and explanation.
