I want to completely reset my samsung yp t9j

Is it even possible to completely return the t9j to its store bought form. i want to just wipe everything clean and start over. can anyone help??

    had the same problem.
the wmp offers a format function under the sync button, and it worked, all files were removed from the YP-T9J although the wmp had only recognized the presets...

The trouble is that samsung media studio or indeed windows explorer seem to lose track of the files so that the machine gets fuller and it's imposible to erase them. The solution is to erase the main folders (datacasts, music, photo, etc) using explorer. That gets rid of all the files and the main folders magically reappear (must be in the firmware....)

There doesn't appear to be a way to do that. The only thing I found was a way to delete the presets. However, here is a ling to the manual:

I can'y delete the folders on my Samsung YP-T9J

On my YP-T9 I choose format and it deletes everything. Of course, I don't use it for pictures, videos, etc. You can format it either with WMP, Samsung Media Studio, or Windows Explorer. Only takes a couple minutes -- in fact, it's a lot faster than deleting the songs via WMP Sync.

Cannot manage (delete) songs

Try and reformat the mp3 player. I'm not too sure how to because i am not totally familiar with the make and model but you could try by going into My Computer, then right clicking on the mp3 player's drive letter (e.g. Removable Disk (F:) ) and then selecting format. Beware, this will wipe everything that is currently on the drive.

Samsung YP-T9j won't turn OFF - Automatic Test Mode

Have you tried connecting it to your computer and attempting a Firmware re-load? There should have been a disc supplied which holds the software that operates your player. Firmware crashes are quite common on various machines, ans a re-load often sorts it. How old is the player? Worth checking the manufacturer's website to see if they've updated the Firmware.
