I got an Accu-chek (Active) blood sugar monitor as present but need instructions to operate it. Can you help

Go to this internet page
https://www.accu-chek.co.uk/gb/products/metersystems/active.html
in the upper right somewhere, above the text box there are several (4) a tabs, click on the one that says 'HOW TO USE'. The box will re-appear with basic instructions in it. Please take note of the bold text underneath these instructions.
Or, on the page quoted above, along the top there is a strip with the words CUSTOMER SERVICE' on it just to the right of centre, before the search box. move your mouse to that box and a drop down menu will appear - select 'contact us' and contact accuchek support to ask for a user guide/reference manual to be sent to you if you do not have one. (the instructions for use will be in this booklet - consult that if you have one, it probably has illustrations)

Son just bought me a Bushnell Banner Dusk&Dawn 4 Plex, Mil-dot, 3-9x50E. Just looking for an explanation on all the marking on the reticle (inside of the scope) I understand the cross hairs and how to...

Simply put, the Mil-Dot is a way to estimate range with the scopes reticle. This type of reticle was developed for military applications. The space between the dot centers is equal to one milliradian (Mil). hence the name mil-dot. One Mil equals 3.6" inches at 100 yards, or 36" at 1,000 yards. To use this system effectively you must know the size of the target. For instance most people are an average of 6 feet tall or 2 yards. The formula used for determining range to the target is (size of target x 1000 divided by number of mils the target covers). Hope this helps FixYa up.

Where can I get a manual for a Redfield 6-18x accu trac scope?

Dear Carl,

I have the same problem and have not been successful finding an actual manual. However, if you go to "abousainc.com" there is a link for general instructions. It is under "Redfield Scopes" and then scroll down to "How to use the AccuTrac." However, it does not give the starting point of the instructions and only gives the table for the different dials. I will try to explain what those 2 lines at the top of the reticle are for.

The average whitetail from the top of the shoulder to the bottom of the chest should fit exactly inbetween these 2 lines when the zoom is used correctly. If you notice, the yardage counter in the bottom left (4:00 position) it will tell the yardage of the deer when you zoom in or out and the torso fills these 2 lines. You may also notice it starts at 200yds. Thats because you need have your rifle zeroed in at 100 yds. So there's no point displaying less than 200 yds. This is where the different dials come in. For example: the deer is 300yds away. You zoom in or out until the torso of the deer is inbetween the 2 lines then look at the yardage in the 4:00 position. It should read approx 300yds. Then you dial up to the number 3 position on the elevation knob and aim as you would if the deer where at 100ds.

Look up which dial you need on the ABOUSA site on the AccuTrac tables I mentioned earlier. You might be lucky and find the dial you have is the right one for your caliber. If not, this company was once the offical repair facility for Redfield, Colorado. They also have the different dials for sale but are quite expensive...$10--$30 each.

Hope this helps,
Mark

How do I use the range finding graph reticle from barska?

The IR Rangefinding Reticle is based on the military reticle that ranges tanks, believe it or not, front to back--whatever line the tank fits between will give the range to it...but the reticle has been adapted for use in some riflescopes. Trying to define the math behind rangefinding and downrange zeroing with multi-stadia reticles is complicated and takes some study to fully grasp the concepts, which is why I have a constantly available on-line article, entitled, "Tactical Ballistic and Ranging Reticle Analysis," right here--

I NEED TO IDENTIFY A SCOPE.IT IS A REDFIELD WITH OVAL EYEPIECE AND ROUND FRONT.IT HAS A DIAL ON TOP THAT SAYS UP WITH AN ARROW.IT IS 12.75 INCHES LONG.ALSO HAS A DIAL ON EYEPIECE END THAT GOES FROM 3 TO...

The best guess I can make using my books going back to 1970. Cant be sure of the dates they started, but about 1980 Redfield made what they called, Widefield low profile scopes. They made 7 of these Widefield scopes, 3 Variable power wide view and 2 they called Accu-trac Varable these 2 are in 2x-7x power and 3x-9x power the Accu-trac scope is the one you have I believe.

I'm looking for a manual or instructions for a rifle scope simmons blazer model 800506? Scope has a boresighter built in; I'm not sure how to use.

your best bet is to locate your local shooting club and ask someone experienced with specialist scopes. As for now, all I can suggest is to sight the scope in at 3x power. I'm not sure about a boresight on this scope, since is is at the extreme budget end of zoom scopes. If you mean it has a rangefinding (or ballistic) reticle, then you might try here: http://www.perry-systems.com/reticle_analysis.htm for basic usage guide. The reference distances will vary according to several factors, including but not exclusively: bullet weight, muzzle velocity, firing angle, windage adjust, wind direction.

I have a pair of leica binoculars model 102351 which has vitical and hrizontal markings in the lens, I presume it has something to do with a range finder but I have no idea how it works. I would appreciate...

You are correct that the lines are for rangefinding. This is what is called a reticle. Without seeing how they are set up it is hard to determine the scale used. Most scales are in meters, some in yards, but they all work the same. Go to any of the following websites and download the instruction manual.
Go to Tasco and search for the Offshore OS 36 or 54 manual. OR go to Steiner Optic and download the manual for the Military 7x50 or Commander or Navigator models.
These instruction manuals have details and diagrams of how to read a rangefinder reticle.
Basically if you know the distance to an object you can estimate its height or size. OR if you know the size of an object you can estimate the distance to the object.

Ranging reticle in Fujinon FMTRC-SX Binocular

Its easier to explain seeing a diagram. Go to Tascos website and download the instruction manual for the Offshore binoculars or Steiner Optic website and download the general binoculars instruction manual. It has all of Steiners models incuding those with a reticle. Most reticles are the same and there is no difference between meters and yards as your calculations are an approximate.

If your Fujinon is an ex military unit it has what is known as an M22 reticle. It is only slighlty different as it is graduated in mils but the calculations is the same. If it is the M22, google Binocular M22 manual. The military number for this is TM 9-1240-403-12 & P
