Your Lexmark X1240 All-In-One

If you insert the old cartridge, does it recognize it? If it does, then it's a problem with the new cartridge. Try to check if you already have taken out the protective tapes out of the cartridge.

If it still doesn't recognize the old cartridge, then it's a problem with the printer.

Please make sure that the printer is actually VISTA compatible (it should say it on the box) If it is compatible then there is a good chance that the drivers need to be updated. (even if you just bought it) Your first option would be to download the driver directly from Lexmark.com (forget the CD that came with it) Your other option is to download the drivers for LEXMARK X1250 (I have tried this many times with other printers and they worked just fine) I have also used these two web sites to download the drivers for other printers and it seems to work ok so far. One of a few things. It can be the ink is too low, paper jam, or the chip board went bad in it due to dust, dirt, or just lousey building :)

Take this link to Lexmark website and enter model number to download drivers.

I'm getting around the problem by using Windows or Nero print options to get the photo as near to the size I need. It would be good if I could print photo's from Photo studio though much simpler and less time consuming.

Which operating are you using if your using (Vista use windows photo gallery to scan)

You need to have winzip in order to install ,first save the file on your DESK top.double click on the file it will guide to for installation.
