Mp610 blue/black screen

I just replaced my projector lamp for the 2nd time in two years, no biggie. I started the projector and got the normal startup blue screen, I was happy. While I was fiddling with wires half-way across the room (no wires were hooked up to the projector at this point) the projector made a funny noise, went from the normal blue screen to a black screen and had "Ygb/Bgb" or whatever that combination is in the middle of the screen. I turned the projector off and then back on and got a black and blue screen with a funny shaped blue thing in the middle, all of which was fuzzy. What happened? did the video card just mysteriously go out?

Update. I turned it off and on a half dozen times, let it sit overnight, plugged it back in and then it worked! I have no idea why, but it works good as new.

Hi there

If the problem occurs again , you will most probably have to replace the mainboard , as all the inputs of the unit lies on the mainboard itself.

Only bottom half is shown on screen from our Benq

Try lowering the resolution of your pc to a lower amount that the Projector can handle. Start as low as 800x600 and try working up from there.
To change pc's resolution: Right click on the desktop, click properties then settings and try sliding the resolution adjuster and testing each one with your projector. wait for the projector to resync itself each time.
good luck!

How do you open a BENQ MP610 projector to replace the light? What tool do you use? Thanks Marty

I just replaced my lamp for the same beamer. Took me a while to figure out how, but if you know how, it is easy. Turn the beamer on its back. In the middle, you will see a black rubber (small), it covers a hole and a screw is in the whole. Pull the small bblack rubber out. Unscrew the screw. A small cover will come loose. And there is the lamp, You have to pull out the power cable, and than only one little screw that mounts the lamp to the inside of the beamer.

It's easy!
Hope you will succeed,

Benq MP610 does not project any picture

OK , then this is positively a Mainboard problem.

Check if this unit is still under warranty as the BenQ MP Series came out with a standard 3 year warranty and in which case will cover the replacement of this part.

InFocus LP280 problem

Hi there

I'm afraid this might be a faulty Mainboard.

Your lamp will never make the Projector show funny stuff on the image.

Must warn you that a new Mainbaord is quite expensive
