Question about Toshiba gigabeat MES60VK Digital Media Player
I dropped my Gigabeat from about 2 ft above the ground and it turned
off. I took it home and tried to charge it because I couldn't think of
anything else to do. The screen came on just fine and the menu was
there, but I couldn't press anything because it told me the device was
still blocked. The hold button was pushed back to the unlock position
but it still told me the device was locked.
How can I get it to unlock?
If I can't unlock it, is there a way to get the media out of the Gigabeat so I can transfer to my computer?
Betcha something's rattling in there. Open it up (or have the local shop do it to keep the warrantee) and set it right so it registers that the lock switch is moved. Spring things back into shape to the lock/unlock switch works. Then close it back up and be careful, maybe putting a case on it.
