I connected my laptop to the usb to print - but it keeps saying the printer is offline even though it is connected - if I buy a new usb would this fix the problem?
Most recent printers want software installed first, please use your CD or go to http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=238&modelid=15601#DownloadDetailAct to get the software and driver for your operating system. During the installation it usually asks you to plug in the usb for detection. Give that a try.
