If Vista, you can run PC Restore from the F8 menu. If XP CTRL+F11 at the Dell Splash screen

What's the best malware tool to remove an alureon J trojan horse?

I know about a virus program at www.malwarebytes.org. Some say it's great. I had it and it found a lot of trojan horse virus.
They have a free version you can try. Be very careful typing the addr in and don't forget the .org.
hope this helps

How do a complete factory restore on dell inspiron 1525 when after f8 it says unable to locate file?

Dell.com supply "rescue disks" as do many sites on the net. I think that is possibly the only way to go.
Errors on the hard drive possibly caused the error in the file system, or the master file table has been corrupted.
Hope it helps.

When i try system restore when done says error not working

Hello, David.

Unfortunately, System Restore does not always work. If possible, go back to a previous date. If you've tried all dates (usually the dates are bold), and are still unsuccessful, you may need to reinstall the operating system (Vista ?).

It depends on why you needed System Restore in the first place.

Often, if you have spyware, malware or a virus, the only choice is to use System Restore to "turn back the clock" to an earlier time. And, I've seen some spyware totally prevent System Restore from occurring, which may be your case.

If you have not tried System Restore from Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly), that would be your next step.

If you have spyware, etc., you'll need to reinstall your operating system, if you have already tried to remove the spyware, etc..

Hope this helps.

There is trojan horse virus in my laptop. i ve a symantec norton 2004 antivirus. everytime i update my antivirus, there's some process happening n it comes again unable to hell the virus.... it got...

you need to press F8 while the pc is booting for a startup in safe mode, then when in safe mode select start windows in safe mode, go to my computer, properties>system restore tab and turn off system restore and then run the scan again as these trojans cannot be deleted when the pc is in normal use.

If your antivirus finds them but cannot heal, make a note of the file that has the trojan and then search for the file and delete it manually.

Ensure after the trojans are deleted that you tuirn system restore back on
