If a condenser dryer:
Make sure water tank removed if not empty.OR empty it first.
If not a condenser dryer ..make sure the outlet tubing is not stretched so it is damaged.
Make sure the item is NOT plugged into the mains.
Make sure you have some towels or other soft item to place the machine so you do not damage it before you place it on its side.
Make sure that if it is heavy .....you have some help.
I experienced the problem with a hotpoint TCYM 750, with the red empty water light failing to switch off. After removing the filter and cleaning it, cleaning the condenser and drying anywhere I had access to the machine still didn't heat and the light remained on. Reading the post about the machine having 3 reservoirs it struck me that one of the reservoirs may be hard to access. So I unplugged the machine and tipped it onto its front. The reservoir drained, I pushed the machine back upright and cleared up some water around the condenser. The drier now works properly and the empty water light is off - job done!
hi ime not sure but some dryers have a small tank inside at bottom with a float maybe float is stuck or if it has a pump maybe not working will have one if water tank is at top of dryer
Hi there, if your dryer is a condensing dryer then perhaps you need to empty the collector bottle , its is a compartment on the side of machine , open this and remove the bottle , this must be done after at least two sessions of drying. On the other hand if your dryer is of the vented type with a 4 inch flex vent it must be vented through the wall to the outside with no kinks in it , the reason for this is the water turns to vapour , and must exit the machine or you will have clothes that are still wet and water will collect at the bottom, its the same principal for the condenser machine only you have to empty the bottle of condensed water or the same result will occur. Hope this is of some help to , Cassyjoe.
Got a similar problem with an HNC172. The supplier said it is the water indicator sensor that is not working. He fixed it! It still stops!!! Clear lint from the trap in the door. Empty what little water there is in the tank, then make sure it has a good shove to get it back into place and the tube/catch is well joined back. Also take out the condenser unit above water tank, stick in the bath and put the shower hose through it to clear lint. Recommend getting a tea strainer over the plug hole or you block your drain as quite a bit comes out. It helped for a while, but it still has problems. Might be the thermostat for the heater? check the error codes. They flash a different number of times within 15 seconds to indicate which problem is happening.
My son seems to have fixed my dryer. Although I followed the instructions about cleaning the filter after each cycle and the condenser after ten, fluff had blocked the drainage from the internal reservoir to the water collection bottle. It seems like this will be an ongoing problem, as even cleaning every time, fluff will gradually biuld up. The filter isn't good enough to stop fibres getting into the condenser and then into the reservoir behind it. I expect that taking the cover off the reservoir to clean it invallidates a guarantee if you have one, but that is what my son did and now the dryer is working.
Sounds like the sensors is dirty, or there is scale or deposits in the bottle. Clean out the bottle with a descaler if it has any scale (white or brown) deposits in it. If it is clear and still a problem, the sensors is inside the bottle holding section. Make sure there is not any fluff or dirt in there by giving it a hoover outand a gentle brush.
